This Summer’s Flower Wedding Trends

This Summer’s Flower Wedding Trends

With a newly vaccinated population and the end of the COVID-19 pandemic in sight, we can all look forward to in-person weddings again. In the coming months, we can look forward to the following summer wedding flower trends.

Bright Colors

After the last year, everyone is looking for some brightness, and this will be evident at summer weddings this year. Even those who opt for classic, neutral shades will include accents of bright colors such as yellow, coral, and pink. There’s no doubt that the Pantone colours of the year will continue to make an appearance – bright yellow and grey will be included in these pops of color, with flowers like mimosa and yellow delphiniums and foliage like dusty miller being great candidates for the roles.

Elaborate Flower Installations

Elaborate flower installations will also be one of the biggest summer wedding flower trends this year. Large-scale installations such as stair installations are set to be huge, with both, grounded and floating installations, having their moments. After putting off their weddings for a year, couples are expected to make a big splash with florals as focal points. In addition to arches and flower walls, people should expect aisle meadows to be popular this summer.

Sustainability

Also seen earlier in the year, sustainability in wedding florals isn’t going anywhere. However, this isn’t just restricted to donating flowers after the event – brides are doubling down on their requests for no plastics or floral foam, with some even opting for potted plants as floral features in order to be more eco-friendly. Artificial and dried florals will also remain popular this summer.

Mixed Flowers

Many florists have noted that while dried florals are still a large part of bouquets and floral installations, they’re being mixed with fresh flowers. The mix of natural and artificial, and fresh and dried florals not only enhances texture, but gives front and center stage to trends like pampas grass, bunny tails, and sun palms.
